Binding of Triostin Analogues to DNA

In this work, we show that MicroscaleThermophoresis (MST) is capable of measuring small molecule binding to fluorescently labeled DNA molecules. The binding affinity of derivatives of the antibiotic Triostin to DNA molecules withdifferent sequence is shown. This set the stage for application of Microscale Thermophoresis as atool for screening for sequence specific drugs that can function as an antibiotic or anti"canceragent.
